Every morning during the cold winter days I would ask
myself, " How am I going to wear my hair today while I do my
work massaging horses?" I don't want it down because it will
drive me crazy around my neck and will look sloppy. I don't
want it up inside my hat because I will look like a boy. I
would end up putting it in a low pony tail and wearing a hat
with a brim which looked good but my ears would always be
cold because they were not covered. My other alternative was
to put my hair in a flat braid and wear a ski hat. That
didn't work either because the hat would pull the braid
apart causing my hair to fall out the side of the hat. I
knew there had to be a better way. I went to the store and
found the softest ski hat that I could find. I brought it
home. To my husbands surprise I immediately cut a hole in
the back of my brand new hat. I put on my new soft hat.
Pulled my pony tail through the hole. Instant comfort. The
first thing that came out of my mouth was SWEEET! I wore my
homemade hat almost everyday of the winter. It dawned on me
that no one else was wearing a hat like mine. I decided to
design a hat like the one I had made for myself so that all
people with long hair could experience the comfort. I know
the first word that will come out of their mouth will be
SWEEET!
I also found that when trying to buy a warm
winter hat I always saw on the label One Size Fits All. Do
they really believe One Size Fits All? Because of this I
made my hats Youth / Small which measures 21 inches around
the the largest part of the head. Medium measures 22 inches.
Large measures 23 inches.
Besides not having a size option, I also
found that most of the time there were only five standard
colors. That is why I have brought to you 19 colors to
choose from for your hat. SWEEET!
I have had alot of people giving me great
moral support when I thought about giving up on my SWEEET
HAT. So, THANK YOU Blue, Jill, Betsy, Bonnie, Emily, Lane,
Lila, Tommy, Dee, Diana, Anne, Homer, Leslie, Alexander,
Sergio, Chris, Barry, Jan, Jason, Dave, Royce, Valerie,
Lisa, Mack, Trayce, Mary Coleman, Shirley and Denise.....and anyone else I may have forgotten to mention. You have all
encouraged me at some point during this process.
